Affiliate Program Disclosures

HomeEssentialsLab participates in various affiliate programs. When readers purchase products through links on our site, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. These programs include:

  • Amazon Associates Program — We earn from qualifying purchases made through our Amazon product links.
  • CJ Affiliate, ShareASale, and Impact — We participate in these networks for retail partners beyond Amazon.
  • Direct retailer programs — We may participate in affiliate programs run directly by individual retailers.

Affiliate commissions do not affect any of the following:

  • Product ratings or evaluation scores
  • Testing outcomes and methodology
  • Ranking order in buying guides and roundups
  • Editorial independence and content decisions

Clicking our links costs you nothing extra. The price you pay at any retailer is identical whether you use our affiliate link or navigate there directly. Our commissions come from the retailer’s marketing budget, not from additional charges to you.

What We Do Not Accept

To maintain the editorial independence that makes our recommendations trustworthy, HomeEssentialsLab has a strict policy against the following:

  • Sponsored posts or paid reviews — We do not accept payment to write about specific products or to guarantee coverage of any kind.
  • Paid placement — Product rankings, “best of” positions, and editorial mentions cannot be purchased. Products earn their placement through testing.
  • Gifts or free product samples — We purchase all products at retail prices. We do not accept manufacturer samples, press units, or gifted products for review purposes.
  • Biased rankings — No financial relationship influences how products are scored, ranked, or recommended.

On rare occasions, HomeEssentialsLab may engage in clearly disclosed paid partnerships, such as sponsoring a specific research initiative or data analysis project. Any such paid partnership will be:

  • Clearly labeled on all relevant content pages in accordance with FTC guidelines
  • Structured to prevent the partner from influencing editorial conclusions, ratings, or recommendations
  • Disclosed at the top of all content associated with the partnership

FTC compliance: All material connections between HomeEssentialsLab and third parties — including affiliate relationships and any paid partnerships — are disclosed in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255).

How Disclosures Are Made

We disclose material connections in the following ways across our content:

  • Affiliate links — Product links to retailers are affiliate links unless explicitly noted otherwise. This is disclosed in our sitewide affiliate disclosure statement and in the footer of every page.
  • Paid partnerships — Any sponsored content or paid research partnerships are labeled “Sponsored” or “Paid Partnership” at the top of the relevant page.
  • This page — This Disclosures page serves as a centralized reference for all material connection disclosures on the site.

If you believe a material connection on our site is not adequately disclosed, please contact us so we can review and correct it promptly.
